Storytelling | Fall Session 2019 | Wednesdays
Looking to become a better storyteller that is both engaging and knowledgeable? Then this is the class for you. We will cover the ins and outs of a good story and walk you through the crucial elements needed show it to an audience. This class is beneficial to improv performers as well as though looking for a better understanding of story for script and play writing. The narrative work will show you how to raise the stakes in a scene and actively engage any audience.
This class will cover concepts like:
- 7 Part Story Spine
- A Hero’s Journey
- Long form improv storytelling
- Creating history for characters
- Building stories from relationships
- Deeper understanding of story arcs
- Setting and completing meaningful objectives in stories
Dates: Wednesdays, October 2nd — November 20th (Classes are once a week for 8 weeks)
Time: 6:00 – 8:00pm

Location: The Upfront Theatre
Prerequisites: Spontaneity Class, minimal level of improv training, or permission of Education Director. Must be at least 18 years old.
Recommended Prerequisite: Completion of Advanced Spontaneity.
