Want to learn how to write sketch comedy? Take this six-week introductory workshop and you can! This workshop focuses on giving you an overview of sketch writing and the basic tools to create your own comedy content. Whether you’re a seasoned comedian, improviser, or brand new to comedy*, this is the perfect crash course on writing sketches for both the stage and screen.
In this class we will cover the different types of sketch, brainstorming premises, pitching ideas to the room, punch-ups, rewrites, and more! This class will be super fun, and also a lot of work! Participants will be expected to write outside of class each week, read sketches aloud in class, and participate in brainstorming and feedback session. Bringing a positive, supportive attitude to the group and work is imperative.

About the instructor:
DK Reinemer has been writing and performing comedy for over 20 years. Most recently DK has written and toured three solo sketch comedy shows (Help! I’m American!, Becoming Magic Mike: An Action Adventure Comedy, The DK Effect: Over Confident and Underqualified) to Fringe Festivals across North America.
Other sketch experience includes: over 10 years as one half of the dynamic sketch and improv duo, “The DK and Morgan Show” headlined sketch festivals such as, San Francisco Sketchfest, Seattle Sketch Fest, Vancouver, Chicago improv fest, and more. In Los Angeles, DK was a writer and performer on the house sketch team, 100% Stuff at The Pack Theater for two years producing a brand new show every month.
DK drives a Subaru Forester and has recently picked up knitting.
