Improv 100

 

This class introduces students to the foundational skills of improv in a fun and exciting way. Through games and exercises students will learn the basic concepts of improvisational theatre and unlock their creative genius.  This class is fun, supportive and great for anyone wanting to meet new people and explore their creativity.  Sign up for the class that will change your life.

Improv 200

 

Further building on the theories and skill sets introduced in improv 100, Improv 200 begins to tie together the "Who, What and Where" and use them to explore scenes and games for the stage.  Through side coaching and focused exercises Instructors will work closely with students to advance and hone their improv abilities.  Students will learn how to apply what they have learned to exercises, games and scene work.  Students are encouraged to partake in the Saturday Jam Sessions.

Prerequisite: Completion of Improv 100 or prior approval from the instructor or education director.

Improv 300

Through the "who, what and where" students will explore the    motivation behind their characters actions, and learn how to     use that motivation to color their scenes. This class will work on specific skills necessary for open scene work and performance on stage with other improvisers: being in the moment, reacting, giving information, creating silent tension, character motivation, and narrative arch, reacting to the environment, emotions, character objective, and manipulation of mimed objects.  Students are encouraged to partake in the Saturday Jam Sessions and the Thursday night show, "The Good, Bad, and Ugly," to further develop their improv abilities.

Prerequisite: Completion of Improv 200 or prior approval from the Instructor or Education Director.

Improv 400 Performance Series

 

Improv 400 will continue to build the skills of the more advanced improviser by utilizing the skills taught in the previous classes.  This class will work intensely on improv scene work at a performance level with lots of stage time and lots of side coaching.  This class will address individual's strengths as well as areas that need improvement.  Students are encouraged to partake in the Saturday Jam Sessions and the Thursday night show, "The Good, Bad, and Ugly," to further develop their improv abilities

Prerequisite: Completion of Improv 300 also, you must aply and audition for Improv 400.  *See below for audition info.

High School Improv Class

These classes are hilarious and a ton of fun!  Learn how to do improv games and scenes like the cast of "Whose line is it anyway?" meet new people and become there best friend, explore your creative genius and the world of improvisation.  Improv teaches skills for the stage as well as life: confidence, communication, being in the moment, creativity, having fun and much more.  It's the best class since woodshop.

Cost: $120 for 6-week session
